Day 01 - Sun: New York - Philadelphia Your motorcoach tour commences. Joining passengers meet in the hotel lobby of The Barclay InterContinental at 08:00 for an 08:30 departure.
Your Tour Guide welcomes you as you depart for a New York City sightseeing tour. Catch glimpses of the famous skyline as you absorb the sights and sounds of The Big Apple. After lunch, depart for Pennsylvania. You'll travel through New Jersey, the Garden State, and cross the Delaware River, as George Washington did in 1776, to arrive in the city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Enjoy an orientation tour of this remarkable locale; it's the birthplace of a nation, home to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Hotel: Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown
Day 02 - Mon: Philadelphia - Washington, D.C. Spend the morning exploring the historic district. Walk where America's founding fathers found the inspiration to build a new nation. Explore the National Constitution Center, see the Liberty Bell, and walk through Independence National Historic Park and Mall. After lunch, depart for the Nation's Capital, Washington, D.C. Upon arrival, take an orientation tour to experience the Parisian layout of the city. Sights such as the Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington Monuments dominate the scene. Day 03 - Tue: Washington, D.C. Today you are free to explore the city at your leisure. The Smithsonian Institution includes over a dozen museums, including the Air and Space Museum and the Museum of American History. Take some time to visit the National Archives and the National Cemetery at Arlington where both the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and John F. Kennedy's grave are located. Meals: (B)
Day 04 - Wed: Washington, D.C. - Gettysburg - Amish Country Start the day visiting one of America's most hallowed grounds as you tour Gettysburg National Military Park. Equally famous is Lincoln's Gettysburg Address of 1863. Pause for lunch in the heart of this historic town. After lunch, head for Strasburg and Amish Country. The Amish people live in a world that stopped in the mid-1850s. They use no electricity, mechanical devices, or modern equipment. Spend the night in the area. Hotel: Netherlands Inn & Spa. Meals: (B)
Day 05 - Thu: Amish Country - Niagara Falls, Canada Today travel across the hills, dales, and rivers of Pennsylvania, and traverse the lush Susquehanna River Valley. Then cross the Appalachian Mountains, and head into New York's Finger Lakes district. Arrive in Buffalo on the shore of Lake Erie, follow along the Niagara River, and finally cross into Canada, where the thundering noise and mist of Niagara Falls permeates the air. Upon arrival, perhaps enjoy an optional trip to the top of the Skylon Tower to look down upon 'the smoke that thundered', followed by dinner. Hotel: Doubletree Resort Lodge and Spa. Meals: (B)
Day 06 - Fri: Niagara Falls - Toronto This morning you will have time to explore Niagara Falls. Ride into the falls aboard the popular Maid of the Mist (optional) and walk under the falls at Cave of the Winds (optional). In the afternoon, head toward Canada's largest English-speaking city, Toronto. Upon arrival, embark on a city tour, taking in such famous sights as Parliament, City Hall, and the CN Tower - the world's tallest free-standing structure (1,815 ft / 553 m). Day 07 - Sat: Toronto - Ottawa This morning follow Lake Ontario east to Canada's capital, Ottawa. Take a tour of the Parliament Building, and see the Prime Minister's Residence at 24 Sussex Drive. In the afternoon you are free to shop at the bustling Byward market or walk along the historic Rideau Canal. Enjoy an optional evening dinner and show with the local natives on Turtle Island. Day 08 - Sun: Ottawa - Montréal Today it is off to the cultural capital of French Canada, Montréal. Follow the Ottawa and St. Lawrence Rivers into this very cosmopolitan city. Upon arrival, take part in an orientation tour that shows you the Old Port, the 1976 Summer Olympic Stadium, Mont Royal, the Notre Dame Basilica, and more. Hotel: Marriott Chateau Champlain. Day 09 - Mon: Montréal - Québec City Spend the morning exploring Montréal. In the afternoon, we travel to Québec, one of North America's greatest cities. This UNESCO world heritage site is the last old world Walled City remaining in North America. Enjoy unparalleled views of the Saint Lawrence River, stopping at Chutes de Chaudierre for the spectacular scenery that surrounds this special place. Upon arrival we have an orientation tour to familiarize you with your surroundings. This evening we suggest a walk along the cobblestone streets of the old city. Hotel: 2 nights Hilton Québec. Day 10 - Tue: Québec City This morning there will be a short tour that takes us out to the thundering waters of Montmorency Falls before stopping at the world-famous Basilica St Anne de Beaupre, known for healing the ill. The afternoon is yours to freely explore or perhaps to wander the footpaths that take you down to Canada's oldest street. The evening is at leisure to enjoy the cuisine of this gastronomical paradise. Meals: (B)
Day 11 - Wed: Québec City - Acadia National Park - Bar Harbor Today you return to the USA. Cross the rugged landscape of Northern Maine on your way to the rocky shores of Acadia National Park. Containing the highest point on America's Eastern shore, this is New England's only National Park. This is an amazing place of wind, waves, rocks, and trees, where the Atlantic crashes into the shores of America. Later enjoy the quaint coastal town of Bar Harbor. Hotel: Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. Meals: (B) Day 12 - Thu: Bar Harbor - Boston Begin the day heading south along the rocky shores of Maine. Stop at L.L. Bean's flagship store in the town of Freeport where you will have a chance to browse. Pass through the quaint towns of coastal Maine including the most famous, Kennebunkport - summer home to two presidents. You will end the day in Boston - famous for its Tea Party of 1773, and the American Revolution - with an orientation tour, including a stroll along the historic Freedom Trail. Day 13 - Fri: Boston Today you may chose to spend a full day at leisure in Boston for last minute shopping or to explore this historic city further, or join us on a full day excursion to Cape Cod. We depart Boston in the morning and travel to Hyannis on beautiful Cape Cod. Hyannis is home to many sumptuous summer residences and the famous Kennedy compound. You will have free time to explore and enjoy shopping and lunch or to simply stroll along the beach. Meals: (B)
Day 14 - Sat: Boston - New York Enjoy a relaxed morning in this historic city before returning to New York City. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner at a renowned local restaurant, to say goodbye to the friends you have made. Hotel: Intercontinental The Barclay. Meals: (B), (D)
