New England Fly-Drive Holiday

Begins & Ends: Boston.  Includes: Boston, White Mountains, Green Mountains, Cape Cod.

This 8 day / 7 night fly-drive lets you see the best New England has to offer at your own pace. 

Days 1 & 2: Boston 
On arrival at Boston, collect your rental car from Hertz, and proceed to your Boston area hotel, where you will stay the first two nights. The city is yours to explore, with its terrific shopping, dining and entertainment options. Hotel: 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Newton or the Crowne Plaza Woburn. 

Day 3: Boston - Mid Coast Maine (112 miles) 
Travel along the North Shore of Massachusetts, through coastal New Hampshire and into Maine. Arrive early evening in Portland. Plenty of restaurants feature the local speciality - lobster! Hotel: Overnight Mid Coast Maine at the Howard Johnson South Portland. 

Day 4: Mid Coast Maine - White Mountains, New Hampshire (107 miles) 
Journey through the Maine Lakes Region on your way to the White Mountains. Drive to North Conway, with its countless factory outlet stores. The nearby Mt. Washington Toll Road takes you to the summit of one of the east's highest mountains. Hotel: Overnight in the White Mountains at the Rivergreen Resort, the Lodge at Lincoln Station or the Inn Season Resort South Mountain. 

Day 5: White Mountains - Green Mountains, Vermont (130 miles)
Entering Vermont on your way to the Green Mountains, stop at Quechee Gorge, Vermont's mini Grand Canyon, for breathtaking views. Hotel: Overnight in the Green Mountains at the Mountain Inn, The Summit Lodge. 

Day 6: Green Mountains - Connecticut River Valley (174 miles)
Travel to the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. Continue to Lenox and to Stockbridge, once home to Norman Rockwell, one of America's greatest artists. Hotel: Overnight Connecticut River Valley at the Best Western Sovereign.

Day 7: Connecticut River Valley - Cape Cod, Massachusetts (186 miles) 
The choice is yours. Travel directly to Cape Cod or head into America?s smallest state, Rhode Island, and visit fashionable Newport. Then it's off to Cape Cod, with its white sandy beaches, historic villages, great shopping and excellent seafood. Hotel: Overnight Cape Cod at the Heritage House, Bayside Resort Hotel or the Comfort Inn Hyannis. 

Day 8: Cape Cod - Boston (75 miles) 
En route to Logan Airport, visit Sandwich, the Cape's oldest town. Travel to Boston to return your Hertz car and catch your flight home after a fascinating fly-drive holiday.
