This 15 day / 14 night fly-drive takes in the best of the Deep South.

Day 1: Atlanta 
Arrive in the capital of the Peach Tree State. Collect your Hertz rental car and drive to your first hotel. Visit the Road to Tara Museum, the Carter Presidential Center, the World of Coca Cola Pavilion or the CNN Center, home of the world's largest television network. Day 2: Atlanta - Chattanooga (114 miles) 
Travel north today, into the Appalachian Mountains to Chattanooga. Incorporated in 1851. The city began as an outpost on the border of the Cherokee Nation and developed into a diverse city with a variety of manufacturing, commercial and cultural activities. Days 3-4: Chattanooga - Memphis (317 miles)
Welcome to the home of the blues, Beale Street, W.C. Handy and Elvis Presley. 'The Mountain Top' sculpture, honors Dr. Martin Luther King, who was assassinated here. Days 5-6: Memphis - Nashville (210 miles)

Day 7: Nashville - Great Smoky Mountains (293 miles)
In Chimney Rock Park, reach the top of legendary Chimney Rock for a spectacular view (reach the summit via a 26-story elevator inside the mountain). Day 8: Asheville - Raleigh (246 miles)

Days 9-10: Raleigh - Cape Fear (120 miles)

Days 11-12: Cape Fear - Charleston (166 miles)
Travel south to Myrtle Beach with its variety of entertainment and spectacular beaches. Discover Charleston, one of the South's best preserved cities with blocks of restored historic structures. Stroll through Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, explore the 30-acre Audubon Swamp Gardens or take a cruise to Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began. Days 13-14: Charleston - Savannah (110 miles)
Arrive in romantic Savannah, founded in 1733 as England's last colony. Explore the restored waterfront; many homes are open for touring. Many of Savannah?s old buildings have survived and been restored including the Pirates' House (1754), an old seaman's inn mentioned in Stevenson's Treasure Island. Day 15: Savannah - Atlanta (249 miles)
Drive along the Antebellum Trail, through Macon, famous for its plantation style homes, en route to Atlanta. Return your hire car before your flight home.
